Load-bearing structures |
 |
...made from plastics
Specific functional requirements and / or architectural concepts are the reason for using plastics as a material for load-bearing members in structural engineering and for special appliances Types of plastics often used are:
- thermoplastics - HD-PE,
- textile - glass - reinforced plastics - GFP
- PVC - coated polyester fabrics
Typical constructions are:
- tanks used to store liquids dangerous to water and situated above ground and underground
- special appliances for incineration and sewerage plants
- membrane structures - air-supported structures
- large water slides
