Electrical and electronic appliances, sub-assemblies or components must operate safely, in accordance with existing safety regulations and standards.

The LGA can test these appliances for you, in accordance with the latest European and international standards valid for the products. We are ourselves involved in the drafting and development of these standards in numerous committees and standards groups of the DKE, DIN, CEN/Cenelec and the IEC, so that we can constantly test at the state of the art and be one step ahead of the competition. Our clients benefit from our expertise and experience.

Safe products don't just happen: they have to be properly designed, built and manufactured. The European Union has laid down some basic safety requirements, including the following directives:

• Low Voltage Directive 73/23/EWG
• Machinery Directive 98/37/EG
• Toy Directive 88/378/EWG

As a notified body for the above directives, we can help you to implement these requirements at all stages of product design and production. We can also help you with national and international product certification.

Electrical domestic appliances

These include electrically powered appliances such as vacuum cleaners, cookers, microwaves, hair dryers, toasters, mixers, and lots more.
This product group is covered by such important test standards as EN 60335, EN 60730.

Lighting, furniture with electric connections

Standard lamps, wall and ceiling lights, strings of lights and storage units with lighting belong to this product group.
One important test standard for this group is EN 60598.

Information Technology, office equipment, multimedia equipment, consumer electronics

Important test standards for the following appliances are:
Information Technology (PCs, office equipment...) EN 60950
Consumer electronics (stereo equipment, TV sets...) EN 60065
