- consultancy and co-operation during planning, production of documents for going to tender and award of contract in accordance with VOB, regulations on invitations to tender for building services
- structural analysis calculations on the basis of ATV guidelines (ATV A 127, ATV A 161)
- structural analysis with the help of finite element methods to optimise pipe wall thickness, for pipe branches, for installed conditions where the prerequisites for calculation in accordance with the ATV guidelines do not apply
- outside monitoring of new pipe-laying, in situ monitoring of criteria for stability, checking suitability of companies to carry out the work, materials, work preparation, installation and assembly, in co-operation with the responsible departments of the LGA (Geotechnics, Material Testing)

- standardisation and committee work, national and international in ATV (Waste Water Technical Association), DVGW (German Association for Gas and Water)
- checking structural analysis calculations for new pipe-laying, using all standard installation methods, pipe materials, pipe cross-section shapes, installation and loading conditions
- activities as expert witness and production of expert opinion for damage
