Tunnelling

The LGA's Geotechnical Institute has offered consultancy in tunnelling for many years. One constant challenge has been provided by the complex workings for Nuremberg's tube. Tunnelling projects are handled throughout Germany and worldwide. Special experience can be shown in inner city shot concrete construction and in moving shield operation.

We can offer underground examinations and geotechnical consultancy at all stages of planning, going to tender and implementation, as well as drawing on our activities as test engineers for the tunnelling machine stages and our particular experience as tunnelling consultants to German Railways (Deutsche Bahn AG).

Tunnel driving and micro-tunnelling

The great number of trenchless construction methods in use require extensive experience on the part of the geotechnical consultant. We have in-depth know-how in the assessment of trenchless construction for the stability of third parties' properties (e.g. railway systems, roads, canals). Our experts provide solid geotechnical expertise, coupled with many years' experience of a very wide range of methods.
